What is Domestic Violence Under Australian Law?
Under NSW law, domestic violence includes:

Protection Through Apprehended Violence Orders (AVOs)
An Apprehended Domestic Violence Order (ADVO) is a court order designed to protect someone from a person they fear will be violent, abusive or threatening. The order sets conditions restricting that person’s behaviour.
ADVOs can:
Prevent a person from approaching or contacting you
Ban them from your home, work or school
Prohibit possession of weapons or firearms
Prohibit harassment or intimidation
Protect children and others in your household
